Golden Milk Latte

This delicious creamy latte is a drink that I recently discovered and I've been wondering where it's been all my life. I like to drink it while curled up on the couch reading my favorite book at the end of the day.

Golden milk, also known as ginger turmeric milk, is warm and comforting. Thanks to the delicious ingredients it also packs a healthy punch. Benefits of golden milk may include reduced inflammation, support brain function, improve memory, lower blood sugar levels, and improve your immune system.


Golden Milk Latte


Ingredients

  • 1 Tbs. fresh ginger, grated

  • 2 cups of your favorite milk, I use unsweetened vanilla almond milk

  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

  • 1 Tbs. fresh turmeric, grated

  • 1 Tbs. pure maple syrup

  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

  • a pinch of black pepper

Optional Additions:

  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

  • 1/2 Tbs. coconut oil

Directions

  1. In a pot, heat milk until steaming but not boiling, being careful not to burn it.

  2. Add in all ingredients and stir with a whisk. Using a hand held milk frother works well also but be careful not to burn yourself.

  3. Strain into a mug and enjoy!


Notes:

-If you don't have access to fresh ingredients you can also use ground spices. If you are using ground spices reduce the amounts to half.

-Turmeric can stain so be careful if using white mugs.

-You can leave out the black pepper but adding in a small pinch will allow your body to absorb the nutrients in the turmeric.
