Alongside regular exercise, a balanced diet plays a vital role in achieving and sustaining optimal health. This means making sure that you are eating adequate amounts of the macronutrients you need in order to power your body. Protein is a macronutrient made up of 20 different amino acids which are the building blocks for our hair, skin, muscles, cartilage, and bones. Protein plays a roll in creating and maintaining every single cell in our body. If your goal is to have a healthy immune system, shiny hair, long hard nails and maintain or increase your muscle mass then you need to be sure that you are consuming enough protein each day. Here's why:


  1. Building Blocks for Tissue Repair and Growth: Protein is often referred to as the "building block" nutrient, and for good reason. Protein is responsible for repairing and rebuilding tissues throughout our body. Protein can be found in both plant and animal sources such as chicken, beef, dairy, eggs, nuts, lentils, beans, seeds and nuts.
